On May 14, 2012 , Hennepin County and Minneapolis hosted their twelfth Project Homeless Connect event at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This event turned over 160,000 square feet of convention space into a one-stop service center to address the barriers that prevent people from finding
lasting employment and securing safe and stable housing. The event brought together over 125 different service agencies providing resources ranging from mental, medical and chemical health services, employment training and placement, comprehensive medical and dental care, haircuts, ID services, and voicemail services. On the day of the event over 500 service providers and 1,000 volunteers served nearly 2000 people seeking services.
